The Los Angeles Kings secured home-ice advantage when they thrashed the Edmonton Oilers 5-0 on Monday night, which we think will impact the Kings vs. Kraken prediction, player props, and NHL picks.  
The Kraken have nothing to lose and the Kings should be focused on resting players and preparing for the first round of the playoffs. Tonight’s game at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle starts at 10:30 p.m. ET (ESPN).

The Kings walked all over the Oilers last night, with the result all but decided by the end of the first period. With nothing left to achieve until the playoffs start, Tuesday’s game in Seattle will represent a challenging occasion to get up for. Kings head coach Jim Hiller hasn’t disclosed his lineup for the game yet, but I’d be shocked to see all of his top players suiting up. 
There’s no need to unnecessarily risk any of his instrumental assets just 24 hours after achieving what his team sought when starting the road trip. After playing seven in a row, Darcy Kuemper will give way to David Rittich. The Kings’ backup will probably play the remaining two games before Kuemper returns to the crease for Game 1 against the Oilers.   
There’s also the emotional letdown to consider. The Kings, who are among the Stanley Cup odds favorites, can be forgiven if a morsel of complacency seeps into their game, particularly after assembling the league’s best record (16-4-0) since March 8. 
Seattle awaits, fresh, loose, and with no reason whatsoever to hold back.

With an assist in three of the last four games, Eberle offers good value to notch at least one helper against a fatigued Kings team. He posted an assist last week in Los Angeles when the teams met. As I’m unsure whether he’ll play, Kempe to score is only a three-star pick. If I were Hiller, I’d be resting Kempe for at least one – if not both – of the remaining games. Nothing has been confirmed either way, but he’s still listed at our best NHL betting sites. Kempe scored against Edmonton and has netted in three of the previous four meetings with the Kraken.
