The Kansas men’s ice hockey club is joining the battle against cancer by hosting its annual Hockey Fights Cancer campaign which runs throughout the month of November.
The Hockey Fights Cancer initiative was started in 1998 by the NHL and the NHL Players Association. Since its creation, the program has raised over $20 million for national cancer research and various charities.
In partnership with the NHL and the NHL Players Association, the club will host a Hockey Fights Cancer game on Friday, Nov. 10, at Cable Dahmer Arena. The Jayhawks will face off against the Bears of Washington University in St. Louis. All proceeds from the game will benefit the American Cancer Society. During the campaign, the Kansas Ice Hockey Club will host weekly fundraisers and on-campus informational tables to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. For more information about fundraisers, visit @JayhawkHockey on social media.
