It’s no secret what Dylan Larkin’s quest for Olympic gold means to US men’s hockey team – New York Post

MILAN — It’s been almost a decade since Dylan Larkin competed in the NHL playoffs.
That was at the end of his rookie season in 2015-16, when the Red Wings could muster only one win against the Lightning in a five-game, first-round series. Detroit has since missed the playoffs for nine consecutive seasons, which is the league’s second-longest postseason drought.
The Red Wings were in playoff position when the Olympic break began.
For Larkin, however, helping Team USA into gold medal position first would be welcomed by a player who hasn’t truly won anything in 12 years.
