Trail and Greater District RCMP released an image of a person of interest in the alleged assault on a man, during a KIJHL playoffs game at the Beaver Valley Arena, in Fruitvale, in March.
According to police, the altercation was allegedly between a Grand Forks man and the Fruitvale victim over the use of an air horn, during a March 18 playoff game between the Grand Forks Border Bruins and Beaver Valley Nitehawks. The matter escalated into a physical fight, said RCMP, with the Fruitvale man allegedly being violently thrown to the ground where he sustained serious injuries as a result. He was taken by ambulance to hospital for immediate medical attention.
The suspect in the alleged assault is described as approximately 50 years old, Caucasian, heavy build, with grey hair and a moustache, and wearing a grey cap, black jacket, and blue jeans.
He may have been accompanied by a woman described as approximately 50 years old, Caucasian, with long brown hair, glasses, and wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
Anyone who can identify the person is asked to contact the Trail Detachment at 250-364-2566 to speak to an investigator.
