SEATTLE — The red-hot Detroit Red Wings are set to finish up their four-game trip through the Northwest on Tuesday night when they take on the Seattle Kraken.
The Red Wings come into Tuesday night on the longest active win streak in the NHL. Thanks to starting off their swing through Western Canada with wins over the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks, the team has won six straight games. Detroit is one victory away from matching its season-high seven-game run they set earlier in January.
Currently, the Red Wings are fourth in the Atlantic Division, hanging onto the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
The Kraken have not been as fortunate as the Red Wings. Though they have had some good performances, the team has not been consistent enough to challenge for a playoff spot. With losses in three of its last four games, Seattle is seventh in the Pacific Division, 10 points out of a Wild Card spot.
This is the second and final meeting of the season between the two teams. The Wings handed the Kraken a 6-2 loss in Detroit on Jan. 12.
