LAS VEGAS, NV. — Two of the best teams in the NHL, the Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights, play today on Tuesday, Jan. 28, which is slated to start at 10 p.m. Eastern on ESPN+.
The game is exclusively airing on ESPN+. The service does not offer a free trial, but hockey fans can get a lot of bang for their buck with an ESPN+ subscription, which starts at $11.99/mo.
This is one of those games that could be a preview for the Western Conference playoffs. Though both teams have 31 wins so far on the season, the Stars sit second in the Central division, while the Golden Knights tie for first place in the Pacific division.
The Stars’ Matt Duchene (47) and Jason Robertson (45) are the only players on the team accounting for 40 or more points on the season, and what’s really helped is their defense. They currently rank third in goals allowed (2.45) and save percentage (91.3%).
Despite tying for first in their division, Vegas has only won three of their last 10 games, and has things to retool at the halfway point of the season. Center Jack Eichel has done his part, accounting for 62 points which is good enough for eighth among all players. But four of their last six losses have all been one-score games, so it implies they came down to the little things.
