SEATTLE — Hockey season is just around the corner, as the Seattle Kraken prepare for their first preseason game of the 2025-26 National Hockey League season against the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday.
The game will be at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle at 5 p.m.
It will be broadcast on KONG. KONG is available for streaming through DirecTV Stream and Fubo and via antenna, cable, and satellite. The game will also be broadcast on the Kraken Hockey Network.
This will be the first chance for fans to get a peek at the new-look Kraken after off-season coaching and player changes.
Head Coach Lane Lambert will be making his debut after replacing Dan Byslma in June. Lambert most recently served as an assistant coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs and previous worked as head coach with the New York Islanders.
Also in June, the Kraken acquired forward Mason Marchment from the Dallas Stars, which Kraken General Manager Jason Botteril said added “an important skillset” to the roster. The team also acquired forward Frederick Gaudreau, who led the Minnesota Wild last year in total faceoffs.
Several top performers return from last year, including Jaden Schwartz, Eeli Tolvanen, and Jared McCann, who led the Kraken in scoring last season.
KING 5 and KONG are the official local television partners of the Kraken, bringing the hockey team to free over-the-air live television. All six preseason games will air on KONG. The stations will air 73 of the team’s 82 regular-season games, and national broadcast partners will show the remaining nine games.
KONG is also available to stream through DirecTV Stream and Fubo.

In addition to games, KING 5 and KONG are airing Kraken Home Ice, a weekly magazine show, during the season. The show features team-focused feature stories, player and coach interviews, and more. New episodes air on Saturdays starting Oct. 4 at 10:30 p.m. on KONG and KING 5+. Encore presentations will air on Sundays starting Oct. 5 at 11:35 p.m. on KING 5 and KING 5+.
