The Detroit Red Wings and the Columbus Blue Jackets will compete outdoors at Ohio Stadium as part of the 2025 NHL Stadium Series.
The national televised event will be the second game of a home-and-home exchange between the two teams. On Thursday, the Wings (30-23-6) suffered a 5-2 loss to the Blue Jackets (29-22-8) in Detroit, and have lost three of their past five games. The teams are tied for the two wild-card spots in the Eastern Conference.
Detroit will play in its second Stadium Series matchup and fifth outdoor event in franchise history. The Red Wings debuted in the event in 2016 and defeated the Colorado Avalanche 5-3 at Coors Field. Other outdoor events the team has participated in include two Winter Classics (2009 and 2016) and the 2017 Centennial Event.
The Wings and Blue Jackets will wear special uniforms for this outdoor game, with the Wings in white and Blue Jackets in navy.
