Michigan’s high school field hockey season is coming to a close, which means the state’s top two teams — Ann Arbor Pioneer and Dexter — are competing for the inaugural title. 
The Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) is hosting a state field hockey tournament for the first time ever, making this championship all the more special. Both Pioneer and Dexter have been dominant throughout the tournament, each shutting out opponents through four straight games to secure their spot in the title match.

The Dreadknaughts and Pioneers met twice during the regular season, with the first game ending in a 1-1 tie and the second with the Pioneers winning 1-0. 
This could be anyone’s title to win.

The Michigan high school field hockey playoffs will not be available to watch on a national TV channel, but fans can stream games on the NFHS Network.

The inaugural Michigan high school field hockey final between Ann Arbor Pioneer and Dexter will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. ET. The game will be held at Tom Holzer Field in Northville, Michigan.
