The New Jersey Devils (7-5-2) end their western Canada road trip in Alberta to face the Edmonton Oilers (6-5-1) before heading home to Newark.
The Oilers will be without their captain and superstar, Connor McDavid, after the 27-year-old suffered an ankle injury against the Columbus Blue Jackets last week that will keep him sidelined for 2–3 weeks.
The Devils limp into Monday night’s matchup as well, as Curtis Lazar and Nathan Bastian have both been ruled out for the foreseeable future.
Monday’s contest marks the final contest for the team’s three-game road trip in western Canada (1-1-0). It also marks the first
of two matchups vs. Edmonton this season:
March 13 | Prudential Center | 7:00 P.M. E.T.
The Devils have won at least two of three games on a western Canadian (vs EDM, CGY & VAN) road trip three times (2016-
17, 2018-19 & 2022-23).
12/10/23 4-1, L Edmonton
12/21/23 6-3, L Prudential Center

Devils Postgame: Flames Fans Taunt Jacob Markstrom in Calgary Return Amid 3-0 Loss
I’ll take Lazar & Bastian out over the injuries of last year like Dougie, Timo, Nico, Jack, Haula, Sieg’s, that play much much bigger roles.
This team better get it’s crap together. Best they looked all year was vs Vancouver & then laid an egg in Calgary. We’re playing another team on their back to back with another game vs a backup goalie. A handful more games & we’re at the quarter of the season mark. We should have the best defense in the league. With fwd’s that are supposed to be the best 2 way fwd’s with Palat, Haula, Nico, Bratt, Mercer, Noesen, this team should be giving up very very few goals against. We shouldn’t be lacking any offense. This team should be significantly better than it is
