The Detroit Red Wings look to keep their winning ways going on Thursday night when they pay a visit to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Red Wings have been plagued by inconsistency over the past few weeks. After a solid win or two, the team would fall in a couple of matchups to teams they arguably could be beating. The polarizing results was seen earlier this week. Just a couple of days after losing to the Boston Bruins in a shootout, Detroit came back to beat the Bruins on home ice on Tuesday, despite nearly blowing a three-goal lead.
Nevertheless, the Red Wings have to get ready for a tough six-game road trip, which will see the team have an extended trip through the Western Conference.
The Blue Jackets certainly have not been bad this year, though, like Detroit, they still have some work to do in order to be taken seriously as playoff contenders. Columbus snapped a four-game losing skid with a win on Monday night over the New Jersey Devils.
This is the second of three meetings between the former Central Division rivals. The Wings pulled out a shootout win over the Jackets at Little Caesars Arena a little over a week ago.
