One of the marquee events on the NHL calendar will see interstate rivals take their game outdoors in a historic venue.
The Detroit Red Wings are set to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2025 NHL Stadium Series at the famous Ohio Stadium on March 1.
This will be the first-ever outdoor game in the history of the Blue Jackets. With the fact that the Florida Panthers will be hosting next year’s Winter Classic, the Utah Hockey Club will be the only franchise in the NHL yet to play an outdoor game.
The Red Wings have previously played in four outdoor games in their history. Starting with the 2009 Winter Classic, Detroit has played in the 2014 Winter Classic, the 2016 Stadium Series and 2017 Centennial Classic. Detroit is 2-2 in outdoor games.
With an exciting game between two teams fighting for playoff spots, fans will get to see the band Twenty One Pilots perform.
