Hockey Fights Cancer: Honor a Loved One at The Quad City Storm Game – 97X

This isn't just another night at the rink. It’s a night where the community comes together to prove that no one fights alone. If you’ve ever wanted to "stick it" to cancer, this is your chance to do it alongside thousands of your neighbors. This Friday, February 13th, the Quad City Storm faces off against the Peoria Rivermen for their annual Hockey Fights Cancer game.
The most powerful part of the night is right under the players' skates. Earlier this week, the community gathered to paint the names of loved ones, survivors, those currently fighting, and those we’ve lost, directly onto the ice. These names are now sealed under the surface, serving as the very foundation for Friday’s matchup. As the Storm team says, it’s “a game that means a bit more.” You aren't just watching hockey; you're standing on a memorial of hope.
The players will be wearing specialty Hockey Fights Cancer jerseys that won’t be found anywhere else. After the game, you can participate in a live jersey auction right on the ice. Every dollar raised stays local, benefiting the Trinity Cancer Center. It’s your chance to own a piece of history while directly funding treatment and support for patients in our own backyard.
The Storm is also making sure those on the front lines of care are in the building. All UnityPoint Health – Quad Cities Muscatine employees can claim two FREE tickets just by showing their work badge at the box office. It’s a "puck-tacular" way to say thank you to the people who help our community heal every day.
Celebrate and honor the lives of friends and loved ones who have previously or are currently battling cancer. It’s going to be an emotional, high-energy night that you’ll feel long after the ice melts.
