The Alexandria Blizzard earned a pair of victories over the weekend as it defeated the Willmar Warhawks, 8-3 on the road on Friday and 5-1 at the Runestone Community Center in Alexandria on Saturday.
In Friday’s game, Willmar led 1-0 after the first period, but Alexandria outscored Willmar 5-1 in the second period to lead 5-2 heading to the final frame.

Eli Fletcher scored twice in the second period for the Blizzard, while Mason Buchanan, Ashton Collings, and Markus Olson scored once.
Buchanan and Caleb Waller scored once in the third quarter, and Fletcher completed the hat trick to seal the Blizzard’s 8-3 win on Oct. 4, 2024.
Buchanan had a pair of assists for the Blizzard, while Olson, Waller, and Jacob Simpson had one assist.
Willmar had a 36-31 shot on goal advantage in game one of the weekend. Jayden Serene earned the win in net for Alexandria and had 33 saves.
In Saturday’s home opener at the Runestone Community Center, the Blizzard led 2-1 after the first period with goals by Mason Buchanan and Caleb Waller. The Blizzard extended its lead to 4-1 with second period goals by Jack Carter and Reece Humber.
Kaden Roness scored an insurance goal for the Blizzard in the third period to seal the Blizzard’s 5-1 win on Saturday, Oct. 5.
The Blizzard are now 3-2-0 (six points) so far in the 2024-25 NA3HL season and the Warhawks are now 2-4-0 (4 points).

The Blizzard host the Granite City Lumberjacks (5-0-0, 10 points) on Friday, Oct. 11 at 7:10 p.m., then the Minnesota Moose (1-5-1, 3 points) on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7:10 p.m. The Blizzard hit the road on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. to face the Rochester Grizzlies (4-1-1, 5 points).
