It’s a photo op made in heaven. If you’re a fan of reptiles and team mascots, that is.
The Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty was able to snuggle with WallyGator, the emotional support alligator, Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center during the game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
All dressed up for Halloween, Gritty was decked out in an astronaut costume, as he took pictures with the gator named Wally, posting the photos on his X account.
The fun pictures were accompanied with the caption: “They got gators in outer space?”
As previously reported, Wally made waves when he and his owner, Joie Henney, of Jonestown, Lebanon County, were denied entry from Citizens Bank Park when they wanted to watch the Philadelphia Phillies host the Pittsburgh Pirates last month.
Wally, who is often seen on a leash attached to a harness, has gained quite a bit of attention. So much so that the gator even has a large presence on Instagram and TikTok and is known for being a “nice” reptile that “likes to give hugs.”
Back in July, the gator, who Henny said has never bitten anyone, was running for “America’s Favorite Pet”.
