The Dallas Stars host the Vegas Golden Knights in Sunday’s decisive Game 7, as we offer our best Golden Knights vs. Stars predictions based on the best NHL odds.
The second Game 7 of the 2024 NHL playoffs pits the Dallas Stars (52-21-9) against the Vegas Golden Knights (45-29-8) to close this epic-first round series. Puck drop is scheduled for today at 7:30 p.m. ET from American Airlines Center in Dallas.
The Stars are -148 moneyline favorites across our best sports betting sites after the Knights staved off elimination on Friday, thanks to goals from Noah Hanifin and Mark Stone (empty-net). The goaltenders were stellar in that one, with Jake Oettinger making 28 saves on 29 shots while Adin Hill posted a 23-save shutout.
To accompany our Maple Leafs vs. Bruins predictions, here are our best Golden Knights vs. Stars predictions and NHL picks (odds via our best NHL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

These teams have combined for 29 goals through six games, but nine of those goals came in two periods. There were five goals in the first period of Game 1 and four goals in the first period of Game 5. Outside of that, there have been just 20 goals in the other 16 periods (plus 16:23 of overtime).
The Stars had the second-best expected goals against per 60 minutes at 5-on-5 (2.22) in the regular season with the Knights not too far behind in 10th place (2.46). Add in two strong goalies between the pipes and you’re not going to see many goals on the board.
The Game 7 total for Saturday between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins has already been bet down to a flat five at some of our best sports betting apps after opening at 5.5. I would not be surprised to see similar for this game, which is why I’m taking the Under 5.5 at this -120 price before the line moves much further.

The Stars went 26-11-4 at home during the regular season while the Golden Knights were just 18-17-6 away from home. Vegas has some magic inside T-Mobile Arena which doesn’t work quite as well on the road.
Dallas has been the better team in the majority of the games thus far in terms of expected goals share. The Stars dropped Games 1 and 2 at home despite a 57.8% xGF and 64.06% xGF in those 4-3 and 3-1 losses, respectively.
The Stars may also have an edge given Peter DeBoer’s perfect 7-0 coaching record in Game 7s. Even at these -148 odds, which represent a 59.68% implied probability with a $6.76 profit on a $10 wager per our odds converter, this is the bet to make.
Best odds: -148 via DraftKings

Veteran forward Tyler Seguin isn’t going down easily. He’s gone Over 2.5 shots on goal in five of the six games thus far, including four shots on goal in Game 6.
Seguin has now had 3+ SOG in four straight games, 10 of his last 13, and 13 of his last 19 dating back to the regular season. Expect Seguin to keep shooting in a do-or-die game for the Stars in Game 7.
Best odds: +105 via DraftKings
