The Vegas Golden Knights’ play is starting to live up to their top-10 Stanley Cup odds hype.
They enter Wednesday’s contest at Crypto.com Arena as the favorites against the Los Angeles Kings, who on Monday became the second team to lose to the San Jose Sharks.
That unenviable defeat to the NHL’s bottom-feeders will either provide additional motivation or damage the collective confidence levels.
Our Golden Knights vs. Kings prediction leans toward the latter, expecting Vegas to extend its winning streak – which started against the Kings on Oct. 22 – to five games. The puck drops at 10 p.m. ET in Los Angeles (TNT).

It’s not about who the Golden Knights’ four straight wins have come against that’s most impressive, but the nature of those victories.
Vegas swatted aside the Kings, Ottawa Senators, San Jose Sharks, and Calgary Flames, outscoring them 22-8.
Though all those games occurred on home ice, the Golden Knights are too good not to get their act together in enemy territory, where they’ve lost all three thus far.
Vegas beat the Kings 6-1 to start the winning streak. I don’t believe another lopsided encounter is on the horizon, but the Kings have some worrying aspects to contend with.
The 5-3-2 Kings played last night in San Jose. In a vacuum, that’s of little concern. In fact, it will probably do the Kings some good to play immediately after losing to the league’s worst team. It’s best not to let those hazardous thoughts linger.
However, tonight’s game marks the Kings’ sixth contest in 11 days. And that’s after starting the season with a grueling road trip – most of which was on the East Coast – that consisted of seven games over 13 days.
Los Angeles has played just two of 10 games on home ice, both of which it has won. But tonight’s game is a case of bad timing in what’s almost a perfect storm.
Playing a hot Golden Knights team isn’t the most straightforward task under normal circumstances. Add the variables above, and it’s hard to imagine Los Angeles comes away with two points.
A winning $10 bet will yield a $7.69 profit.

Talk about the stones on Mark. The Golden Knights captain is finally healthy, and you can tell. Stone has 18 points in 10 games to start the season (five goals and 13 assists), tied for the most with the Minnesota Wild’s Kirill Kaprizov.
He has three goals in the last four games, including one against the Kings in their previous meeting and one vs. Calgary on Monday that had so much venom it almost knocked the net off its moorings. Stone also has nine points in the last four games, which makes his Over 1.5 point prop as appealing.
You can lock him for two or more points at the same +200 odds. Either bet will yield a profit of $20 if it hits.
Golden Knights-Kings predictions made Wednesday at noon ET.
