HERNING, Denmark – The U.S. Men’s National Team will play its seventh and final preliminary round game in the 2025 IIHF Men’s World Championship here today against Czechia. Opening faceoff is set for 4:20 p.m. local/10:20 a.m. ET at Jyske Bank Boxen. All U.S. games in the world championship can be seen live on NHL Network.
GAME STATS
Team USA has already secured its spot in the tournament quarterfinals, which will be played on Thursday (May 22). Today’s game will determine the final Group B standings. The U.S. can finish anywhere from first to third.
Czechia earned a 5-0 win against Germany yesterday and begins the day leading the Group B standings with 17 points and a 5-1-0-0 record.
The U.S. had yesterday off and gained a 6-1 win over Kazakhstan on Sunday (May 18). Team USA got goals from six different players with Frank Nazar leading the offensive output with a goal and two assists.
Nazar leads the U.S. offense through six games with nine points, including four goals. Clayton Keller (2-6—8), Tage Thompson (5-2—7), Logan Cooley (3-4—7) and Conor Garland (2-5—7) round out Team USA’s top five point getters.
The U.S. has scored five or more goals in five of their first six games and joins the 1962 U.S. entry in the men’s worlds as the only two teams ever to accomplish that feat.
