STOCKHOLM, Sweden – The U.S. Men’s National Team will face Finland in the quarterfinal round of the 2025 IIHF Men’s World Championship here today with opening faceoff set for 4:20 p.m. local/10:20 a.m. ET at Globe Arena.

GAME STATS
The U.S. is in the quarterfinals of the men’s world championship for the 14th straight year and has advanced to the tournament semifinals in three of the last four tournaments.
Team USA won six of its seven games (5-1-0-1/W-OTW-OTL-L) in Group B preliminary round play to finish second, while Finland also earned six victories (4-2-0-1/W-OTW-OTL-L) in the preliminary round and gained a third-place finish in Group A.
The U.S. and Finland are meeting for the 69th time today in men’s world championship history with the Finns having a 33-2-2-23-8 (W-OTW-OTL-L-T) advantage. The teams have battled in the tournament quarterfinal round six previous times with Finland having won five of those contests, including the last meeting in 2017 by a 2-0 count.
Team USA is led offensively by Frank Nazar, who has 11 points, including six goals. Captain Clayton Keller is second with nine points (2 goals, 7 assists), while Logan Cooley is third with eight points (4 goals, 4 assists).
Jeremy Swayman is a perfect 4-0 (1.97, .893) in goal for the U.S. and has one shutout to his credit, while Joey Daccord is 2-1 (2.00, .919) and also has one shutout.
With a victory, Team USA would advance to the tournament semifinals on Saturday (May 24). The winners of the four quarterfinal games are re-seeded based on preliminary round results to determine semifinal match-ups, with 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3.
