The Florida Panthers hold a commanding 2-1 lead in the Stanley Cup Final after they embarrassed the Edmonton Oilers 6-1 in Game 3.
Florida finished every check until the final horn, frustrating the undisciplined Oilers, which led to a late-game line brawl. The 2025 Stanley Cup Final continues Thursday at Amerant Bank Arena. With the defending champions one win away from taking a stranglehold on the series, betting markets are buzzing, and the DraftKings Sportsbook has the Panthers as clear favorites.
According to DraftKings, the Panthers are listed at -142 on the money line, meaning a $142 bet would win $100. The desperate Oilers and Connor McDavid are +120 underdogs, offering a $120 return on a $100 wager. The over/under for total goals is set at the customary 6.5, with the over at +105 and the under at -120. The puck line favors Florida at -1.5 (+180), while Edmonton is +1.5 (-218).
Bettors can use the DraftKings Pick 6 promo code to get some goodies to enhance the action further and increase their bet without digging deeper into their wallet.
The Panthers dominated Game 3 with a 6-1 rout. It might shock many to realize that the top of Florida’s lineup has been quiet offensively. Sasha Barkov has just one assist in the series, but second-line center Sam Bennett has been a monster, and so too has third-line winger Brad Marchand.
The pair has encapsulated the depth and physicality of Florida’s lineup. Marchand’s two goals in Game 2’s double-overtime thriller and Bennett’s emergence as a Conn Smythe Trophy contender (+160 odds) have lifted Florida to a level not even seen in last year’s thrilling seven-game Cup Final. Florida goalie Sergei Bobrovsky made 42 saves in each of Games 1 and 2, and remains a cornerstone. However, his -115 odds for the under on 6.5 total goals suggest oddsmakers expect a tighter defensive struggle in Game 4.
Actually, we don’t. Fling open the barn doors because this series could be off and running.
Edmonton is no stranger to comebacks. They fell behind in the 2024 Cup Final 3-0 before their furious rally to force a Game 7. Some bettors are laying some scratch on Edmonton again, showing resilience. McDavid (+225 for Conn Smythe) and Leon Draisaitl (+650) must lead the charge, which is why McDavid’s over 0.5 goals prop at +135 is drawing attention.
The Oilers’ 6-3 road record in the playoffs and 92 shots on goal through the first two games are clear signs of their potential, making the +120 money line an enticing pick for those backing an upset.
The series’ high-scoring trend—16 goals over the first two games and seven (albeit six by Florida) in Game 3—has bettors leaning toward the Over, though SportsLine’s model, with an 80-56 record on puck-line and over-under picks, projects a defensive battle, favoring the under in over 60% of simulations.
The puck drops at 8 p.m. ET for the biggest Stanley Cup rematch since the Pittsburgh Penguins and Sidney Crosby unseated the Detroit Red Wings in 2009, handing a young Crosby his first Cup. McDavid hopes the rematch formula works for his first Cup, too.
