On Jan. 15, hockey fans crowded the Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid to watch holograms and game footage recreate the famous 1980 Olympic hockey match between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. Through unseen footage, clips from the game and holograms of the players, fans watched the U.S. team defeat the Soviet Union in a startling upset which came to be known as the “Miracle on Ice.“
