Former Spartan logs NHL milestone, playing in 1,000th career game – Spartans Wire

Jeff Petry has carved out a very nice NHL career for himself, spanning over the last 16 seasons, and now, has hit a major accomplishment.
Petry has officially logged his 1,000th career game, something only 413 other players have achieved in an NHL career. The Panthers defeated the Vancouver Canucks, 8-5, in the milestone game for Petry.
A Spartan from 2007-2010, Petry has gone on to play for the Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadians, Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, and currently, the Florida Panthers. In his 1,000 games, the right shot defenseman has scored 96 goals, while adding 294 assists.
