The Philadelphia Flyers (24-17-9) return from their trip out West when they take on the New York Islanders (27-19-5) on Monday at Xfinity Mobile Arena in South Philadelphia.
Philly returns from a three-game trip out West, where they earned a point in all three games. Following six straight losses, the Flyers went on a road trip, taking on some of the best teams in the Western Conference, beating the Golden Knights and Avalanche, and losing to Utah in overtime. They are 2-2-1 in their last five games.
The Islanders are 2-3-0 over their previous five games, beating the Canucks and Oilers, and losing to the Flames, Kraken, and, most recently, the Sabres.
New York will look to get back on track with its date vs. the Flyers, where Philly will look to continue the momentum built out west and work back into the postseason hunt.
Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. EST. Here is how the Flyers are expected to line up.

As of now (~10 a.m.), Aleksei Kolosov remains on the Flyers roster. That means an official decision on Dan Vladar has yet to be made. I would expect a decision to be made closer to game time. Kolosov will remain up in the NHL until that decision is made.
The same thing goes for Hunter McDonald. McDonald went on the road trip with the Flyers since Rasmus Ristolainen was placed on IR. McDonald remains on the NHL roster as well, which makes sense. Ristolainen was not particularly expected to be activated on Monday.
As for the game itself, look for guys like Bobby Brink, Denver Barkey, and Matvei Michkov to keep going. The three of them had a fantastic road trip, looking better and better each game. All three of them found the back of the net vs. the Avalanche, alongside Owen Tippett, who had a hat trick.
If Vladar does remain out, I would expect Kolosov to get the nod. Ersson has been great in Vladar’s absence, especially on the road trip. If Vladar is still out, the Flyers will have to choose between giving Ersson his 4th straight start and continuing his stretch of rough 252 consecutive minutes. Or, giving Kolosov the nod after his last start, he gave up three goals on three shots.
Early indication is that Ersson will get the nod.

When Vladar does come back, let’s not forget that Sam has played in 5 straight games. Don’t be so antsy if Dan has to play 3 games in a weeks time. Goalies have done it for years and Sam has proven it could be done in today’s game as well.
