HOW IT HAPPENED

Vermont kept the pressure on when senior Mora Fernandez de Oliveira picked up a loose ball in the striking circle and fired a high shot on Peeters, which she denied in the 19th minute.
In the 39th minute, the Great Danes had a strong scoring chance off a short corner when junior Mara Kuskes put a low shot on sophomore Merle Vaandrager, who kicked it away.
In the 48th minute, junior Alicia Battistelli fired a turnaround shot on goal that was again kicked away by Peeters.
