Hunter Skoczylas provides his top daily fantasy hockey target and value plays for tonight’s NHL slate.

After just a two-game slate on Monday night, we have been blessed with an 11-game slate on DraftKings tonight. The Kings topped the Predators, 3-0, last night and come into tonight’s slate as the only squad with zero rest.
As for injuries, Auston Matthews (upper body) will miss tonight’s game vs. the Bruins and Brayden Point (lower body) picked up an injury in Sunday’s game vs. the Jets and is still considered day-to-day. Keep track of all the pertinent injury updates on our Twitter (X): @DKNetwork.

Brady Tkachuk, Ottawa Senators at Buffalo Sabres ($8,700) – As a Sabres fan, I know all about the Tkachuk annual ownage in Buffalo. Aside from that, he’s been on fire. After going scoreless through the first three games of the season, he’s flipped the switch, scoring seven goals in six of the last eight games. In just the last four games, he has seven points and has totaled a whopping 30+ FPTS twice. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is starting for Buffalo tonight and the Sabres’ defense rarely ever gives him ample help. He has allowed 3.16 goals per game this season and Ottawa has averaged 3.82 goals per game –– I’d be shocked if Tkachuk doesn’t continue his dominance when playing in front of the whole 2,000 Sabres fans tonight.
Other Options – Sebastian Aho ($7,700)
Mark Scheifele, Winnipeg Jets vs. Utah Hockey Club ($6,400) – I surprisingly don’t like many of the center matchups tonight, so why not roll with Scheifele, who shares a line with Kyle Connor, who is tied for the second-most goals in the league (9). It’s as simple as choosing the playmakers that share lines with pure snipers, and Scheifele has gotten off to a hot start as a result. Plus, we are talking about the best team in the league right now, the Jets, who are averaging nearly five goals per game (4.92) and control first place with an 11-1 record. Scheifele has recorded six points in his last four games and has surpassed 15.5 FPTS in three of those. Compared to the other options at center and their respective matchups, Scheifele feels the safest.
Other Options – Tim Stutzle ($6,600), Nazem Kadri ($6,100), Marco Rossi ($5,000)
Cale Makar, Colorado Avalanche vs. Seattle Kraken ($8,500) – Makar is $700 more expensive than the next-best defenseman, and for good reason. He’s tied for the most points in the league (21) and has posted at least 20 FPTS in half of his games this season. The 26-year-old superstar is doing a little bit of everything right now –– primarily playmaking, totaling 16 assists already, which leads the league. Both teams come into tonight’s matchup losers of three straight but Colorado already topped Seattle, 3-2, on Oct. 22, a game where Makar totaled two assists. He’s cookin’ and I’m not going to fade him against a team he has already found success against this season.
Other Options – Brandon Montour ($6,500), Rasmus Andersson ($6,100)
Owen Power, Buffalo Sabres vs. Ottawa Senators ($4,500) – There are plenty of solid value options at the defenseman position tonight but Power’s recent play stood out the most. The 21-year-old just broke his six-game point streak on Saturday against the Red Wings but is still tied for the fourth-most points on the team (9) and leads all Sabres’ defensemen with 19 blocked shots. Power may not light up the shot department often and it is not going to work tonight against Ottawa, who has allowed the fewest shots per game to opposing defensemen (5.91) but he’s showcasing his playmaking ability with six assists in his last six games. This should be a higher-scoring game, too.
Other Options – Josh Morrissey ($5,700), Colton Parayko ($5,100)
Ilya Sorokin, New York Islanders vs. Pittsburgh Penguins ($8,000) – The goaltender options are not necessarily great tonight, so we’ll roll with Sorokin against a struggling Penguins squad. Sorokin will almost never give you a negative night and has kept New York in the majority of its games this season. He has had some mixed results in his past four starts and will be making his third consecutive start tonight, so there are some initial concerns about rest. Regardless, he has still posted at least 13.5 FPTS in his last three starts and should have few problems limiting Pittsburgh’s not-so-potent offensive attack that averages just 2.92 goals per game.
Other Options – Filip Gustavsson ($8,000)
