Erie Otters and Sarnia Sting swap players day after their OHL game – Erie Times-News

The Erie Otters and Sarnia String swapped players less than 24 hours after their latest Ontario Hockey League game.
The teams’ Nov. 23 trade had Erie send Tyler Challenger to the Sting in exchange for fellow forward Kase Kazmik.
Challenger, whom Erie chose with the 10th overall pick in the OHL’s 2024 priority selection draft, was inactive for its 4-2 victory over Sarnia at Erie Insurance Arena.
Kazmik, 17, played for Sarnia but didn’t record any points. The Johnstown native committed to play for Miami (Ohio) University’s 2026-27 hockey team.
The Otters’ latest win left them 8-15-1-1 in the league’s Western Division standings. Kazmik’s status for their Thanksgiving eve home game against Brampton was undetermined as of Nov. 23, according to communications director Trevor Kubeja.
This is a developing story that the Erie Times-News will continue to follow.
