The Penguins need a new head coach after the sudden firing of Mike Sullivan. The Panthers took a 3-1 series lead in their series, and the Avs are on the brink of elimination, unfortunately.
All that and more on this edition of Deen’s Daily — April 29.
The Avalanche needed so badly to go into Dallas and continue to play the type of game that leads to success. They found a way to turn the tide in Game 4 and completely control momentum. But that didn’t continue. Instead, they let the Stars take it right back. Several of the superstars for Dallas who were quiet in the series showed up on the scoresheet, including Mikko Rantanen.
Just like last year, the Avs head back to Denver for Game 6 at Ball Arena on Thursday with their season on the line.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs Florida Panthers: It felt like the Lightning were going to even the series up at 2-2. Instead, a late surge from the Panthers, which included two goals in 11 seconds, has the Lightning on the brink of elimination in the first round for the third year in a row.
Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Kyle Dubas made a bombshell move early Monday morning, firing the long-time Penguins head coach. Sullivan was let go with two years remaining on his contract. And you better believe the New York Rangers are going to be hot on his tracks to try and hire him. As for the Pens, Dubas has a plan for when he’d like to make that hire.
Philadelphia Hockey Now: The Flyers might need to add Sullivan to their coach wish list.
Boston Hockey Now: Aside from the Rangers, Sullivan also makes a lot of sense as the next bench boss of the Bruins.
