Construction continues on the Mohawk Harbor Event Center, which will be the new home of the Union men’s and women’s hockey teams next season, on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024.
During a Zoom call with Union hockey season ticket holders, Union athletic director announced the dates of the first hockey games to be played in Mohawk Harbor Events Center.
McLaughlin said the women’s team will play the first-ever hockey game at 6 p.m. Friday Sept. 26. The opponent hasn’t been finalized.
The men’s team already knew its opponent for its first game when Army West Point head coach Brian Riley said during an interview on “The Parting Schotts Podcast” prior to this season’s opener against Union in October that the Black Knights would be the team to face the Garnet Chargers. Union head coach Josh Hauge confirmed that. Now, the date has been announced. It will be Saturday Oct. 4.
McLaughlin added that Union men are expected to have 19 or 20 home games next season.
Season ticket prices were also announced. Men’s season ticket prices are $279 for an adult, $199 for a child (12-and-under) and $199 for Union faculty/staff members. Women’s season ticket prices are $75 for an adult, $50 for a child (12-and-under) and $50 for Union faculty/staff members.
Unlike Messa Rink, all ticketed areas have chairback seating. Those seats located in Sections 4-6 and 14-16 have a padded seat, armrests and cupholders.
