Amazing how much wins mean.  Still not enough separation of teams in the Central.

The Wild need to continue to beat up on the Metro and Pacific division teams because the Central division is going to be a dogfight all season.

We’re almost 1/10th the way through the season, but 2 points is the difference between a playoff spot and dead last in the division right now.
If the season ended today, the Kraken & Mammouth are in, and the Stars and Oilers are out…

Goligoski on Jiricek, from the Athletic:
“It’s funny you bring up that Dallas game, because it was kind of a tale of everything going on,” Goligoski said. “You see he scores the big bomb of a goal and he had some great offensive moments, but there were six, seven moments where it’s like, ‘Whoa, where are you going?’ I watched those clips with him.
“The message was there’s things you have to do in the NHL, there’s places you have to be. But what I love is that we all have seen the improvement and you can almost see him thinking, ‘I need to be here.’ And that’s a start, right? You want it to eventually be a repetition thing where it’s like, ‘This is where I need to be. This is where I need to be.’ Maybe it’s not as natural right now, but eventually it will be.
“But there’s a lot of non-negotiable things as a defenseman in the NHL where your team needs you to be in this position right now. You have to be there. So if it’s not natural for you, we’ve got to get it natural for you. But I can see him consciously making these decisions where before he wouldn’t, so that’s part of coaching, it’s part of developing, and it’s really good to see from him. And he’s in a really good place mentally right now. He wants to get better and he wants to work, and I’m excited about him.”
They sat together in the press box a few games and Goligoski indicates there is progress being made and Jiricek has the right mindset to improve.
