The injury bug has hit the Philadelphia Flyers hard, and it has now affected the goaltending. Star netminder Dan Vladar did not come out for the start of the second period vs. the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday.
In the first period, Vladar allowed two goals on five total shots.
There were a handful of moments throughout the first period where Vladar looked a little slow to bounce back into position. He looked a bit hurt. There was one instance just before the Rasmus Dahlin goal, where Vladar looked a little shaken up.
The TNT broadcast showed a behind-the-net angle of the goal where you could see something bothering the Flyers’ netminder.

Vladar was in the middle of a breakout season. Before Wednesday night, the Flyers’ No. 1 goalie had a 2.42 GAA and a .907 SV%. He was also named to the Czech team for the 2026 Winter Olympics and was well on his way to being the starter.
Per the Flyers, Vladar is out for the remainder of the game with an injury. He will be re-evaluated after the game. Sam Ersson has taken over in goal.
An update on Vladar will be provided when one becomes available.

The wheels have officially fallen off the bus.
The PP is absolutely non-existent and the PK is a nightmare. Team lacks an alpha dog #1 player. They have some nice complimentary players but they truly lack a go-to ace. Few more crap performances like this and we’ll probably be sellers once again.
