Expect him to hold the crease for one more start before Casey DeSmith steps in.
Kuemper, meanwhile, made 18 saves on 21 shots in a 6-3 win over Montreal. That’s two straight wins for him, but he’s been leaky, giving up 3+ goals in three of his last five outings.

Dallas fell to 34-18-1 after a 4-2 loss to the Panthers. The total was set at 6.5 goals, but the game’s 6 goals fell short of that mark. As the underdog on the puck line, the Stars failed to cover. Dallas trailed 2-0 before tying it up, but Florida scored twice in the third period to seal the win.
Evgenii Dadonov put the Stars on the board in the second period, and Matt Duchene added another to even the score. However, the Panthers responded with two more goals, including an empty-netter, to secure the victory.
Dallas took 25 shots on goal but only found the net twice in their 4-2 loss to the Panthers. Evgenii Dadonov scored his second goal of the season, while Matt Duchene added his seventh. Duchene also picked up his eighth assist on Dadonov’s power-play goal.
The Stars were held scoreless in the first period before scoring twice in the second. Dallas had 32 giveaways in the game.
Dallas’ defense allowed the first goal at 5:15 in the opening period and another at 8:47 in the second, putting them down 2-0. After the Stars tied the game at 2-2, the Panthers scored at 2:32 in the third period and added an empty-netter with 1:00 left. Casey DeSmith made 21 saves with a save percentage of 87.5%.
After a 4-3 loss to the Blackhawks, the Kings are now 28-17-6. Los Angeles was favored on the puck line, but failed to cover. The total for the game was set at 6 goals, and the combined 7 goals went over that line.
The Kings held a 3-2 lead until the Blackhawks tied it with just 31 seconds left in regulation. Los Angeles scored the game’s first three goals before giving up four unanswered.
Alex Laferriere found the net twice for the Kings, bringing his season total to 7 and 8 goals. He scored on a power play in the first period and added another in the second. Phillip Danault contributed his first goal of the season in the third period.
Kevin Fiala picked up two assists, giving him 4 and 5 for the year. The Kings fired 40 shots on goal and recorded 13 giveaways.
Defensively, the Kings will look to bounce back after allowing 4 goals to the Blackhawks, including 3 in the third period and 1 in the shootout. Goalie Darcy Kuemper made 18 saves with a save percentage of 85.7%. The Kings’ defense also recorded 6 takeaways and 24 hits.
When making a moneyline pick, my choice is the Kings to come out with a win against the Stars while playing at home. Considering the moneyline odds at -113, I’m placing my bet on the Kings to win outright.
For my recommended choice in the puck line, I’m leaning towards the Stars to cover. Even if the Kings secure a straight-up win, this game is expected to be tightly contested, and the Stars should cover the puck line.
With an over/under line sitting at 5.5 goals, we like this game to surpass that mark and recommend getting a bet down on the over.
