Charles Barkley’s 2025 Stanley Cup prediction is still looking good.
The NBA Hall of Fame forward had a memorable reaction to the Edmonton Oilers winning 1-0 in overtime during Game 5 of the Western Conference Second Round against the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday.
NBA on TNT cameras caught Barkley cheering after forward Kasperi Kapanen scored in overtime to win the series for the Oilers.
“Edmonton won! Wooo!” Barkley yelled while sitting on set. “We scored in overtime.”

TNT host Ernie Johnson asked Barkley if they could talk about the basketball game first and then get back to hockey, but the former NBA MVP was having none of it.
“I told y’all the Edmonton Oilers are going to win the Stanley Cup …We are taking the Cup back to Canada,” Barkley added.
Before the start of the playoffs, the Hall of Famer locked in his 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs bracket with NHL on TNT host Liam McHugh.

Barkley chose an all-Canada Stanley Cup Final between the Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs, with Edmonton lifting Lord Stanley.
“Two years ago, the Florida Panthers lost [Stanley Cup] came back and won it,” Barkley explained his reasoning. “Oilers lost last year, they are going to come back and win it this year. Same scenario.”
