Folks in the Foothills have been very generous lately.
The second annual charity hockey game for Easter SealsCamp Horizon brought in thousands of dollars last Saturday.
Over $42,000 was raised on February 8th with a pair of WestJet return tickets still being auctioned off.
Foothills MP John Barlow organized it again this year bringing in former NHLers as well as Easter Seals southern Alberta Ambassador Elise.
“To have the Easter Seals Elise there, you know she’s the ambassador this year, to have her out there for a couple of shifts and score a couple of goals, you could just see the pure joy on her face to be out there with a couple of NHL legends. You know, that’s what it’s all about.”

Barlow strapped on the goalie pads again this year and while he wasn't able to stop Elise, he added with a chuckle that he was able to stop one notable former NHL player.
"Well, Duane Sutter came down on a bit of a breakaway and kind of had me a little nervous because he had this smile on his face like he knew something I didn't. I was able to stop him, that's something I will always keep in the back of my mind that I stopped a four-time Stanley Cup winner."
Barlow was tickled pink with the support of local businesses that stepped up to donate their time and money for the great cause.
Camp Horizon is a camp for people with disabilities that allows them to have fun at a summer camp designed just for them.
This year's event was held at the Scott Seaman outdoor rink in Diamond Valley while it was held in Bragg Creek the previous year.

Barlow said he's already looking forward to next year and his team will be meeting soon to talk about the where and when for next year.
He confirmed it will be an annual event moving forward.
If you'd like to get in on the WestJet ticket raffle you only have until noon on Valentine's Day.
