Star forward Brock Boeser is expected to be back in the lineup on Tuesday for the Vancouver Canucks when they visit the Boston Bruins at TD Garden (7 p.m. ET, Sportsnet and NESN). Both teams are trying to claw into the top 10 of the Stanley Cup odds.
Vancouver has lost four of its seven games since Boeser went down with a concussion, although the Canucks are still riding a seven-game winning streak on the road. Meanwhile, Boston has won two straight since firing head coach Jim Montgomery and replacing him with interim bench boss Joe Sacco last week.

The absence of stars like Boeser, forward J.T. Miller, and goaltender Thatcher Demko seems to have brought the best out of the Canucks’ supporting cast, especially on the road.
Vancouver even survived the early ejection of Norris Trophy odds candidate Quinn Hughes Saturday in Ottawa, building a 4-1 lead and then holding on for a 4-3 win over the Senators. It was the Canucks’ seventh straight victory on the highway.
Perhaps most impressively, Vancouver’s offense hasn’t skipped a beat without snipers like Boeser and Miller. The Islanders and Devils are the only teams to hold the Canucks under three goals in Vancouver’s last 16 games, and the Canucks have potted three-plus markets in each of their last seven on the road.
Boeser’s expected return to action tonight after missing the past seven games should only boost that production.
Meanwhile, the Bruins are 2-0 under Sacco, but tight one-goal wins over the Detroit Red Wings and Utah Hockey Club aren’t enough to convince me that all is well in Beantown.
Boston’s offensive woes have continued under their interim coach, with the team scoring just three goals in those two wins. The B’s have now managed two goals or fewer in eight of their last 10 contests and five of six at home.

DeBrusk’s usage has gone up significantly since Miller left the team last week for personal reasons. He’s been given nearly 2:30 more ice time in his past two games than the forward’s season-long average, all while skating on the top line with Elias Pettersson and Kiefer Sherwood.
DeBrusk has also made the most out of the additional opportunity. He scored twice Saturday in Ottawa while adding an assist. It was his first multi-point performance since signing with Vancouver this summer.
More significantly for this prop, he fired five shots on net versus the Senators and has hit the target 10 times in his last three games.
Even if DeBrusk gets demoted to a lower line with Boeser’s expected return to the lineup tonight, the former Bruin should be extremely motivated to put up a strong performance in his first game back at TD Garden.
