CANADIENS VS KRAKEN PREDICTION, PICKS & ODDS FOR TONIGHT’S NHL GAME – Covers.com

Seattle has come out firing since the Four Nations break, and we anticipate Montreal netminder Jakub Dobes facing plenty of shots at Climate Pledge Arena.

The Montreal Canadiens will look to make it two in a row with a win over the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena tonight.
Montreal is in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race, and my Canadiens vs. Kraken predictions expect Habs backup Jakub Dobes to stand tall.

My Canadiens pick: Jakub Dobes Over 24.5 saves (-125 at BET99)
My Canadiens analysis
The Montreal Canadiens will turn to backup Jakub Dobes against the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday, and this is a tough schedule spot for the Habs. Montreal is hitting the ice for the second leg of a back-to-back road set, and this is also the final stop of a four-game roadie.
As a result, I anticipate the recent possession and shots mismatch to play out at Climate Pledge Arena, with the Seattle Kraken peppering Dobes with rubber early and often tonight.
Montreal sports a 31st-ranked 43.5 Corsi For percentage at five-on-five since the 4 Nations Face-Off break, while Seattle sits eighth with a 52.0 mark. The Kraken have also averaged the eighth-most shots per game (29.4) since the layoff.
Dobes has looked the part of an NHL goaltender to start his career, too. He’s posted a .913 SV%, 2.49 GAA, and 0.54 goals saved above average per 60 minutes. A 2.2 goalie point share across just 11 appearances also impresses.
The Canadiens have spent the most time shorthanded per game (5:18) this season, creating an opportunity for Seattle to tilt the ice further in their favor on special teams and generate additional shots with the man advantage.

Under 6.5

Jakub Dobes Over 24.5 saves

Nick Suzuki Over 0.5 points
In addition to the solid play from Dobes this season, Seattle No. 1 Joey Daccord has been equally good on home ice with a .912 SV% and 2.49 GAA across the past two seasons.
Both the Canadiens and Kraken are middling offensive teams and respectively rank 16th and 15th in goals per game, as well as 18th and 26th in expected goals per 60 minutes at five-on-five.
Turning to the final leg of this same-game parlay, Montreal captain Nick Suzuki has racked up 15 points across eight games since the 4 Nations pause, and he’s marked the scoresheet in six of those eight.
Finally, plugging in a Suzuki Over alongside the game total Under is a nice multiplier for the SGP odds.
