Hey everyone! I love to write about anything sports related, but mainly cover the Celtics and the NBA. I enjoy writing pieces that are thought provoking and haven’t been covered in a specific way before. I hope you enjoy!
Canada vs USA HockeyCanada vs USA Hockey will rematch Thursday at 8:00 PM EST that will determine the victor of the Four Nations Face-Off
This past Saturday, Team USA grabbed a 3-1 win over Team Canada in their first matchup on Canadian ice. Team USA has a well-built roster, but to go into Canada and win with a sea of red filling the stands, was a statement win for the world to see.
Now playing on American ice at TD Garden in Boston, MA, Team USA WILL once again pick up a win over their rivals up north.

Winning Thursday night will not be an easy task for Team USA, as the injury bug has already plagued them in this short format round-robin tournament.
Defensemen Charlie McAvoy will miss Thursday’s final after suffering an injury early in the tournament.
Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuck is also dealing with an injury, dating back to their game on Saturday where Tkachuck missed the third period, and then rested in their final game, before the championship. Tkachuck is expected to play in the final, which is great news for Team USA and their fans. Tkachuck has 2 goals and 1 assist in two games played in the tournament so far.
Matthew’s brother, Brady Tkachuck, is also banged up going into their final. Brady missed the ending of their loss Monday against Sweden. It was said to be more for “precautionary reasons”, meaning he should likely be available to play Thursday. Star forward Austin Matthews was also held out of Monday’s game with precaution but should be good to go for the final matchup.
Despite the injuries they face, Team USA has shown us before that they can step up when the odds are against them.
In their first matchup, they trailed an early 1-0 deficit to Finland, before going on a scoring spree, including three goals in the third period in two minutes and 45 seconds of game time. They scored six unanswered goals after Finland’s early strike, winning 6-1
Saturday, they once again trailed 1-0 early, after an early first-period goal from Conor McDavid that got the Canadian crowd on their feet. Team USA shutdown Canada after that, winning the game 3-1, with their goalie Conor Hellebuyck picking up 25 saves
Team USA has all of the momentum on their side, as well as the advantage of being able to rest some of their key players in their preliminary round finale, while Team Canada had to fight until the last buzzer against Finland to pull out a regulation win to seal the second spot in the final.
Team USA and Canada’s first matchup displayed the emotions and importance of these games in the players on each respective roster. Three fights broke out within minutes of play, getting the blood pumping, and the crowd onto their feet before anything major happened. This set the scene for what was a cinematic matchup and has created an even better build-up for Thursday’s rematch.
