BUFFALO, N.Y. — This fall, Buffalo will host Game Two of the USA hockey rivalry series. The US Women’s National Team will face the Canadian National Team in Buffalo on Saturday, November 8th. Tickets for the event go on sale on Thursday morning.
“One of our players is from Buffalo, Hayley Scamurra, and wherever they put these games, it’s always extremely well supported, and we anticipate the same and even more so from the great hockey community like Buffalo,” US Women’s National Team Head Coach John Wroblewski said.
Patrick Kaler, the president of Visit Buffalo Niagara, says he believes the region is prepared to host visiting fans with 11,000 hotel rooms. Kaler says they expect the event to have an economic impact of $1.5 million.
“That’s going to be a great opportunity for our hotels, our restaurants, our attractions, the nightlife, and people just coming across the border to have a great experience with women’s hockey.”
Coach Wrobleski says the 2025 Rivalry Series will have added excitement as both teams will be in the process of creating their roster for the winter Olympics.
“This is gonna be a precursor and a set up for the Olympics, so these games already have a high degree of octane there’s gonna be added pressure and dynamic and expectations for these players because they’re really oughta try out this year as the teams will be named right after the new year.”
The Winter Games are scheduled to be in Italy in February 2026. You can watch those, right here on WGRZ Channel 2
