The Vancouver Canucks return home after an unsuccessful trip to Edmonton to take on the St Louis Blues – a team that’s enjoyed the confines of Rogers Arena of late.
The Blues will look for their fifth win in their last six stops in Vancouver, but the books still have the ‘Nucks as -135 moneyline favorites in the NHL odds.

Blues vs Canucks Best bet: Canucks moneyline (-130)
After starting the year off with a dominant 5-1 win over the Flames, the Vancouver Canucks were on their heels from the jump against the Oilers, eventually dropping a 3-1 decision.
When the dust settled, the Canucks had been outshot 37-15. It didn’t help that they had to kill five power plays and had just a 44.4% success rate in the faceoff circle.
They also wasted a stellar performance from Thatcher Demko, who kept the game scoreless after 20 minutes and kept Vancouver in it at 2-0 despite being outshot 28-8 after 40 minutes.
Demko has been healthy to start the year, and his play shows it, with a sharp .944 save percentage.
There’s a chance Kevin Lankinen gets his first action of the year, and he was gangbusters last season with Demko on the shelf, going 4-0-2 through October.
The Canucks can also help themselves if they can get their special teams going. After an 0-for-2 stint with the man advantage in Edmonton, the Canucks haven’t scored in six power-play opportunities — one of five teams in the NHL yet to do so — and may have a softer landing tonight.
The St. Louis Blues have allowed a power-play goal in each of their two games this season.
The Blues have had the Canucks’ number recently, winning four of five meetings, but three of those went to overtime, and a single goal decided four of them.
A better team effort and good goaltending will have them back in the win column.
Brock Boeser is off to a nice start for Vancouver, with goals in both games. He’s picked up points in four straight against St Louis, including a two-goal effort the last time they met.
Dylan Holloway has yet to touch the scoresheet this year, but facing Vancouver could get him going. Holloway has scored in three straight games against the hosts and in four of five.
