Blue Jackets are led by a great offense
The Blue Jackets are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.30 goals per game with 14 goals in the last four games. Kirill Marchenko and Dmitri Voronkov have combined for 38 goals and 48 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Kent Johnson, Adam Fantilli, and Cole Sillinger have combined for 35 goals and 47 assists while defenseman Zach Werenski has added 16 goals and 38 assists from the point to open up the offense.
The offense has stepped up but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.34 goals per game. Zach Werenski and Ivan Provorov have combined for 15.0 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Elvis Merzlikins has struggled with a .894 save percentage and a 2.95 goals-against average on 899 shots with -6.3 goals saved above average.
Utah’s offense has been awful this season
The Utah Hockey Club is having a rough season with their offense letting them down, scoring only 2.82 goals per game with only five goals in the last three games. Clayton Keller and Logan Cooley have scored 33 goals and 64 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only six skaters have 10 goals or more and opponents can limit the top-heavy offense with ease.
The offense has struggled but the defense has stepped up, allowing only 2.96 goals per game. Michael Kesselring and Mikhail Sergachev have combined for 12.7 defensive point shares while Ian Cole and Olli Maatta have combined for 11.9 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Karel Vejmelka has stepped up with a .912 save percentage and a 2.47 goals-against average on 817 shots with 8.6 goals saved above average.
Insiders Status:
The Blue Jackets are having a great season and they look to step up and take over this game from the first period. The Blue Jackets, who average 3.30 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Kirill Marchenko, Cole Sillinger, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Blue Jackets should limit a Utah offense that has only scored five goals in the last three games, with Zach Werenski, Ivan Provorov, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone while limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Elvis Merzlikins to make plenty of big saves. The Blue Jackets should win the game and provide great odds in the process as road Underdogs.
Take the Blue Jackets money line as road Underdogs.
Insiders Status:
The Blue Jackets are led by their offense and this game is sure to be a high-scoring one from the first period. Utah should create plenty of scoring chances with Clayton Keller, Logan Cooley, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Blue Jackets, who have scored 14 goals in their last three games, should run up the score with Kirill Marchenko, Adam Fantilli, Cole Sillinger, and the rest of the forward unit crashing the net on the rush and creating open shots with quick passes while Zach Werenski fires shots on the net from the blue line. The Over should cover in a high-scoring game with both offenses stepping up.
Take the Over on 6.5 goals.
