40th Binghamton Police-Fire Heart Cup Hockey Game
First responders, athletes, and community members gathered at the Vision Veterans Memorial Arena today for a celebration of local service, heart health, and community.
The event marking the 40th anniversary of the Binghamton Police-Fire Heart Cup Hockey Game.
As part of the event, local police officers and firefighters went head-to-head in a charity hockey game, raising money for the American Heart Association and Tunnels to Towers Foundation, which helps first responders and their families who have faced trauma.
The game was followed by First Responder Night, where the Binghamton Black Bears sported first responder jerseys during their game against the Indiana Sentinels. The jerseys were then auctioned off, with funds benefiting the two charities.
Organizers said they expect this year’s event to raise over $6,000, setting a new fundraising record in the event’s history.
