In her first game playing for Team USA at the Women’s U18 World Championship, Bemidji’s Bailey Rupp scored her first ever goal in international play. Rupp missed the first two games of the tournament due to illness but was back in the line-up on Tuesday versus Finland, making an immediate impact in the box score.
The United States would go on to beat Finland 14-0 to finish pool play 3-0. They will begin the knockout rounds on Thursday, Jan. 15, with the U.S. set to play Hungary in that quarterfinal match.
Rupp led the Bemidji Lumberjacks girls’ hockey team in scoring the past four seasons (including this season) and currently ranks fifth in the state of Minnesota in goals this year with 29 and points with 44.
