For the second straight year, the Red Wings' broadcast team has been ranked as the No. 1 NHL broadcasting team by The Athletic.
Detroit boasts the only broadcasting team in the Atlantic Division to be featured in the top-5, and the Montreal Canadiens' broadcast team is the only other division foe to be listed in the top-10.

Despite not making the postseason since 2016, Daniels and Redmond continue to keep fans engaged, informed, and entertained on a nightly basis. The duo provides energetic commentary no matter the circumstance, and their expansive knowledge on the Red Wings franchise – and the NHL as a whole – has fans learning something new every night.
Fans in Hockeytown love their Red Wings, and they love their broadcast team. The Red Wings have been through some rough seasons since 2016, and yet, Detroit fans continue to love their broadcasting duo.
As the story in The Athletic points out, Redmond has had several health issues over the years, which has caused him to spend some time away from the booth. Now, he is typically on the call for home games and select away games.
Chris Osgood and Larry Murphy have taken on bigger roles in recent years, as one of the two joins Daniels in the booth for select away games. Red Wings fans miss Redmond's energetic personality and perspective when he is not on the call, but Osgood and Murphy are great additions to the team.
All in all, Red Wings fans continue to love watching Red Wings hockey, even when the games haven't been as meaningful as they would like in recent years. Daniels and Redmond are a big reason for Detroit's constant hockey passion, and as the 2025-26 approaches, fans are hungry to hear their broadcasting team call important games down the stretch as the franchise yearns for playoff hockey.
