Lankinen had a night to forget against the Kraken, giving up five goals before an empty-netter sealed the deal. Before that, though, he had been rock solid, allowing just 11 goals in six games.

The Ducks fell to 27-26-7 after a 4-2 loss to the Blackhawks. Anaheim, favored by -1.5 goals, failed to cover the puck line. The total was set at 6.5 goals, and the combined 6 goals fell just short of that mark.
Anaheim’s defense struggled early, giving up two goals in the first period. They didn’t score until the third period, when Brock McGinn found the net at 9:44. Mason McTavish added another goal for the Ducks with just 4 seconds left in the game.
Anaheim took 39 shots on goal but only managed two scores in their 4-2 loss to Chicago. Brock McGinn netted his second goal of the season, while Mason McTavish added his second as well, with McTavish’s goal coming on a power play.
The Ducks were held scoreless until the 9:44 mark of the third period. They recorded 16 giveaways in the game and picked up three assists, with Troy Terry earning his fifth assist of the season on McTavish’s late goal.
Defensively, the Ducks will look to improve after allowing four goals to Chicago. Lukas Dostal made 25 saves with a save percentage of 86.2%. Anaheim’s defense also had 6 takeaways and 15 hits. The Ducks gave up the first three goals, including two on the power play, and another late in the 3rd period.
Vancouver improved to 27-22-11 with a 3-2 win over the Sharks. The Canucks were favored on the puck line, but failed to cover. The total was set at 6.5 goals, and the combined 5 goals fell short of that mark.
After falling behind 1-0 in the second period, Vancouver tied it up with a goal from Pius Suter. Jake DeBrusk gave the Canucks a 2-1 lead in the third, but the Sharks responded to even the score. Suter then netted the game-winner with just 26 seconds left.
Pius Suter led the Canucks’ offense with two goals in their 3-2 win over the Sharks. Suter now has four goals on the season, scoring at 5:19 in the second period and again with just 26 seconds left in the game. Jake DeBrusk added his first goal of the season at 15:38 in the third period.
The Canucks took 27 shots on goal and recorded 25 giveaways. They were held scoreless in the first period before Suter got them on the board. Vancouver finished with 6 assists, including Carson Soucy’s first of the season.
Defensively, the Canucks will look to improve after allowing the first goal at 2:37 into the 2nd period and another at 18:43 in the 3rd. Kevin Lankinen made 21 saves with a 91.3% save percentage, while the defense recorded 5 takeaways and 24 hits.
For those seeking a straight moneyline bet, the Canucks are the top choice. Nonetheless, with a payout of -237, you might want to use this bet as a part of a parlay to get better odds.
If you’re looking for my recommendation on the puck line, I suggest taking the Ducks to cover. Even if the Canucks manage to win outright, this game is expected to remain competitive, and the Ducks should cover the puck line.
