Hockey Canada has made the final cuts for this year’s World Juniors roster.
Twenty-five players in total have been picked for Team Canada, and as usual, the roster is filled with top NHL prospects. There are only four players who have not yet been drafted, and all are considered likely first-rounders for future drafts.
The forwards picked are as follows:
There are also eight defencemen on the roster, including two from Canadian NHL teams:
Canada is also bringing three goalies to the tournament:

There are four prospects from Canadian NHL teams in total. Easton Cowan (Maple Leafs), Sawyner Mynio (Canucks), Beau Akey (Oilers), and Brayden Yager (Jets) will all be playing this year.
Some notable cuts that didn’t make the team include Calgary Flames prospect Zayne Parekh and Anaheim Ducks prospect Beckett Sennecke. Both players were high first-round NHL draft picks and are putting up strong numbers in their respective leagues but were not selected.
Canada is hoping to vastly improve on a disappointing result last year when they finished in fifth place. A quarter-finals loss to Czechia meant they had no chance at a medal.
Dave Cameron, head coach of the OHL’s Ottawa 67’s, is leading the team behind the bench.
This year’s tournament, which will be held in Ottawa, begins on Boxing Day. Canada is in Group A with the United States, Finland, Latvia, and Germany.
