The Utah Hockey Club faces the Los Angeles Kings with both teams looking to improve on strong starts. Utah is 4-3-1 and in the middle of the Central Division but they’ve lost back-to-back games. The Kings have a 4-2-2 record which is the second-best in the Pacific Division. Both teams look to improve in the Western Conference and this game looks to be a good one as a result.

Utah hopes defense improves
The Utah Hockey Club is off to a promising start but hope their offense can improve, scoring only 2.88 goals per game. Clayton Keller and Nick Schmaltz have scored four goals and 11 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only four skaters have three goals or more and opposing defenses can limit the top-heavy offense as a result.
The offense has struggled but the defense has let them down, allowing 3.63 goals per game with nine goals in the last two games. Mikhail Sergachev and Ian Cole have anchored the top two pairings but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Connor Ingram has struggled in the net with a .861 save percentage and a 3.82 goals-against average on 151 shots with -5.7 goals saved above average.

Kings have been led by a great offense
The Kings are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.13 goals per game. Anze Kopitar, Adrian Kempe, and Alex Laferriere have scored 10 goals and 11 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Kevin Fiala, Alex Turcotte, and Warren Foegele have combined for eight goals and four assists while defensemen Brandt Clarke, Jordan Spence, and Michael Anderson have added three goals and 10 assists from the point to open up the offense.
The offense has stepped up but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.38 goals per game including eight goals in the last two games. Vladislav Gavrikov and Michael Anderson have led the top two pairings but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to fire open shots on the net at will. In addition,

Insiders Status:
Utah has struggled in recent games but I see them bouncing back and taking over this game on the road. The Utah Hockey Club should create plenty of scoring chances against the Kings, who allow 3.38 goals per game, with Clayton Keller and Nick Schmaltz controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. Utah also looks to limit the Kings offense with Mikhail Sergachev, Ian Cole, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shooting lanes, allowing goaltender Connor Ingram to make plenty of big saves. The Utah Hockey Club should win the game and provide great odds in the process as road Underdogs.
Take the Utah money line as road Underdogs.
Insiders Status:
Both defenses have struggled this season and I see this game being a high-scoring one from the opening puck drop. The Kings, who average 3.13 goals per game, should pile on the goals against Utah, who allows 3.63 goals per game, with Anze Kopitar, Adrian Kempe, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. Utah looks to run up the score against the Kings, who have allowed eight goals in their last two games with Clayton Keller, Nick Schmaltz, and the rest of the forward unit crashing the net on the rush and creating open shots with effective puck movement to overwhelm the Kings defense. The Over should cover in a high-scoring game with both offenses stepping up.
Take the Over on 6 goals.
