The preliminary round is over as the qualification round has arrived in men’s ice hockey in the 2026 Winter Olympics from Milan Cortina, Italy.
The winners of Groups A, B and C (Canada, Slovakia and USA) along with Finland all earned a bye into the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
But first will be the qualifying round to determine who will advance to the next round as it’s win or go home for eight teams, including host Italy.
On the women’s side, the United States ice hockey team moved on to the gold medal game after a 5-0 victory over Sweden in the semifinals on Tuesday afternoon.
