With a spot in the gold medal game against Canada on the line, the United States cruised past Slovakia, 6-2.
After barely surviving Sweden in the quarterfinal, the U.S. had no trouble with Slovakia, leading for the majority of the game. The dominance allowed coach Mike Sullivan to use a balanced lineup, giving everyone a chance to prepare for Sunday.
While Canada needed every minute to beat Finland earlier in the day, team USA has no issues with a tough Slovakia team that punched above its weight. However, the Slovakians couldn’t solve the NHL-heavy United States team in Milan-Cortina.
