The men’s Olympic hockey tournament is down to four teams.
It’s been an exciting tournament with plenty of razor-thin results from the quarter-finals, and a pair of exciting semi-final matchups on tap for Friday. By the time the tournament ends this weekend, one of Canada, the USA, Finland, or Slovakia will be Olympic champions.
But when will the gold medal game air in Canada? It’s a tad confusing following the Milan Cortina Olympics in Italy due to the drastic time zone differences. And, while we don’t know who will be competing in the gold medal game yet, we do know when it’s scheduled to be aired on Canadian television.
Canadians will be able to watch the top two countries battle for gold bright and early Sunday morning at 8:10 a.m. EST/5:10 a.m. PST. TV watchers can find the game on CBC or stream for free on CBC Gem.

It’s a painfully early game for many Canadians, who will need to set their alarms in order to catch the gold medal game. The hope is that Canada will be competing in that game, looking for the country’s first gold medal finish in men’s hockey since Sochi 2014, the last time NHL players competed at the Olympics.
Connor McDavid and co. will need to defeat Finland in the semi-final on Friday to make that happen. They may have to do so without captain Sidney Crosby, who was injured in Wednesday’s thrilling quarter-final matchup against Czechia.
Their potential opponent in the gold medal game will be either the United States or Slovakia. The USA survived an OT thriller of their own in the quarter-final, knocking off Sweden. Slovakia has been the surprise of the tournament, pushing aside Leon Draisaitl’s German squad with relative ease.
The semi-final losers will still get to play for the bronze medal on Saturday at 2:40 p.m. EST/11:40 a.m. PST.
