Canada vs USA Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tuesday’s Women's Olympic Hockey Game – Covers.com

Cordell's prediction: USA beats Canada for fifth straight time.
Canada and the United States entered the women’s hockey tournament as significant favorites to play for gold, with USA carrying shorter odds.
My Canada vs. USA predictions think the latter is deserving of that extra respect and is likely to come out on top in a hotly-contested affair.

Let’s break down my free betting picks for Tuesday, February 10.
Canada vs USA best bet: USA moneyline (-135 at BET99)
These two powerhouses played friendlies in a four-game Rivalry Series spread across November and December. USA won all four matchups decisively, sweeping the series while out-scoring Canada 24-7 in aggregate.
The results were meaningless, per se, but both teams were using the games as tune-ups. There’s a sense of pride when you put on your country’s jersey, especially against fierce competition. It’s fair to put some weight into what happened.
While both teams are loaded from top-to-bottom, USA might just have the extra bit of talent needed to put them over the top.
They are the side with four of the PWHL’s five leading scorers. That doesn’t even include Abbey Murphy or Hilary Knight, both of whom scored five goals and averaged more than two points per game while leading USA to four wins in the Rivalry Series.
Not to mention, USA has more high-end offensive talent on the blueline with Megan Keller and NCAA standout Caroline Harvey.
I’m expecting a closer and more competitive contest than we saw in the tune-up games, but the Americans should find a way to get it done.

Over 5.5
As one-sided as the Rivalry Series was, we saw an average of almost eight goals per contest. That’s not a coincidence.
Both teams are loaded with skill and have the ability to be opportunistic and finish plays off at a high rate.
Canada and USA have each played three games as of Monday morning, and have recorded at least 42 shots on goal in each. The offenses will be tough to slow.
