Switzerland forward Kevin Fiala was stretchered off the ice late in the third period of Friday’s game against Canada with a lower leg injury.
The Swiss team confirmed the injury in a release on Friday night, and announced that Fiala will miss the remainder of the tournament due to the injury.
“Kevin Fiala had to leave the ice due to injury three minutes before the end of the game. Medical examinations revealed a lower leg injury that rules him out of the 2026 Olympic Games. We wish Kevin Fiala a good and speedy recovery,” the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation said.
